Great River Outfitters operates in all 4 seasons and we have a broad range of outdoor fun activities and adventures for all ages and skill levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced). We cater to individuals, families and large groups looking for fun things to do family reunions, retreats, weddings, banquets, parties and special events. We are located at 36 Park Road. in Windsor, Vermont, the same location as the Path of Life Sculpture Garden. We have everything you need to get outside on the Connecticut River or in the 100-acres of woods and fields next to our shop.
The ULLR event - the Norse God of Snow

The purpose of Ullr is to pay homage to Ullr, and to encourage him to bless our area with abundant snow.
In Norse mythology Ullr (pronounced Oool-er) was the Winter God. He was the son of Sif and the stepson of Thor, the “God of Thunder.” Ullr loved the cold, snow, and delighted in traveling over the country on his skis or skates. He also delighted in the chase, and pursued his game through the Northern Forests.
So, this time of year we hail Ullr hoping he will bring us a little snow (okay A LOT of snow). By what the forecasters are saying, it looks as if Ullr will be making his presence on 28 Jan 2012 this year. And to celebrate Ullr, Great River Outfitters, Path of Life Garden and Paradise Sports is hosting several events the most fun one of all is the Parade. In the Winter
We offer unique trips that include dog-sledding, sleigh rides, moonlight snowshoe adventures, and winter camping. In addition to specialized trips, we run a daily rental program for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Most of our Winter activities occur on 100-acres of farm fields that are next to our shop and 14-acres in the Path of Life Garden. For more extreme terrain, we access Mt. In the Summer
We offer float trips on a pristine section of the Connecticut River. This part of the river is suitable for people of all ages and paddling abilities. In addition to float trips, we have our own tipis in the Path of Life Garden that sleep 12-16 people or we can put you in primitive island campsites along the river. Our fleet of canoes, kayaks, rafts and tubes can accommodate individual explorers, families, youth groups, office outings and family reunions.
