Great River Outfitters, LLC offers self-guided canoe, kayak and raft trips on a pristine section of the Connecticut River in Windsor, Vermont. In addition to our half-day and full day trips, our family adventure program offers unique canoe camping opportunities along the River. Our fleet of canoes, kayaks, and rafts can accommodate individual explorers, families, youth groups or office outings.

We are a locally owned business that operates out of an old barn on the banks of the River. We have a shuttle-bus service that will drop you off and pick you up so don't worry about the transportation. Our goal is to make it quick and easy for you to enjoy a scenic stretch of moving “flat water” that is suitable for people of all ages and paddling abilities.

From Memorial Day (May 30) through Columbus Day (Oct 11), we can help you get everything you need for great day trips or can help you plan the perfect overnight canoe camping trip. Paddle at your own pace and enjoy the scenery and water. Rest on the shore, take a picnic lunch, swim, fish, take photos, or just soak up the sun. We’re conveniently located and easy to get to, but you’ll feel like you’ve escaped civilization and found your own quiet oasis in the heart of the Green Mountains.

How does it work?

Make a reservation in-person, by phone, or e-mail.

Meet us in Windsor 15 minutes prior to your trip time.

Our shuttle takes you and our boats to the put-in spot.

Our instructors will provide a few minutes of expert instruction and then send you on your way.

All there is left to do is paddle, float, relax and enjoy.
