GRO is an outdoor adventure outfitting company located in Windsor, Vermont. We operate in all 4 seasons and host a broad range of adventurous outdoor activities for all ages and skill levels, from canoeing, kayaking, rafting, river tubing and camping, to dog sledding and snowshoeing. We cater to individuals, families and large groups looking for unique, fun and exciting things to do in New England; family reunions, retreats, weddings, banquets, parties and special events. We also offer lessons for kayaking, land navigation, survival, winter camping, outdoor leadership and much more. We are located right next to the ever popular Path of Life Sculpture Garden, and have everything you need to get outdoors, on the River, in the woods or on the 100 + acres of trails woods and fields next to our shop.

The Path of Life Garden

POL this one of a kind garden is no ordinary arrangement of flowers tucked into the woods. The Path of Life Garden is a landscape shaped by a revelation of the human spirit and inspired by our relationship with the natural world. Visitors travel through 18 works of art illustrating elements that constitute human life. In doing so, spectator is transformed into participant, engaging the 14 acres of sculptures and the surrounding expanse. Accented by the Connecticut River, the Path of Life Garden accommodates hiking, picnicking, yoga/meditation and unique camping opportunities (two full sized, authentic Tipis!). In the Summer & Fall

We offer inexpensive float trips (canoes, kayaks, rafts and river tubes) on a pristine section of the Connecticut River, in which we provide all necessary gear, transportation and aid. This particular stretch of river is suitable for people of all ages and paddling abilities. In conjunction, we offer unique camping opportunities on the river, spanning anywhere from 1-5 days or more! We have our own tipis in the Path of Life Garden that sleep 12-16 people or you can paddle down the river to primitive island campsites along the river. Our fleet of canoes, kayaks, rafts and river tubes accommodates individual explorers, families, youth groups, office outings and family reunions. During the autumn months we make available an extremely underrated way to experience Vermont's spectacular foliage by way of the river! In the Winter & Spring

We offer unique outdoor activities that include dog-sledding, sleigh rides, moonlight snowshoe adventures, and winter tipi camping. In addition to specialized trips, we run a daily rental program for snowshoeing on our extensive, well-groomed trail network.  Most of our Winter activities occur on 100 to 150 acres of farm fields and forest that are next to our shop and 14-acres in the Path of Life Garden. For more exreme terrain, we access Mt. Ascutney and the surrounding State forest land for day trips and winter camping.
