PRIVACY POLICY:
Great River Outfitters (GRO) & The Path of Life (POL) collects your name, email address, and billing information when you make a purchase. This information is used to process your order, send you updates, and provide you with customer support. We share this information with our payment processor to process your transaction. You have the right to access, correct, and delete your data. If you have any questions, please contact our office at info@greatriveroutfitters.com
WEATHER POLICY:
As an outdoor outfitter, GRO monitors the weather in our area extremely close for your safety using national and regional forecast and radars. The safety and comfort of our guests is first and foremost and we use several websites to monitor the weather using the information provided by NOAA [National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration]. Please keep in mind that the weather can be very different at our location than it is within a 20-mile radius, so we are very decisive about our area.
GRO trips or adventures depart rain or shine, except if the weather conditions become a hazardous situation such as but not limited to High Winds, Electrical Storms, and/or High-Water Levels. GRO will contact you via text message, phone, and/or email to notify you of any changes to your reservation due to inclement weather. Great River Outfitters does adhere to our cancellation policy and may not cancel your trip until up to 2 hours prior to your scheduled trip time. For further information about our cancellation policy, please refer to that policy below.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Once you are ready to confirm your trip or adventure with us and the dates have been approved, the total trip or adventure cost will be required to secure your scheduled date(s) on our calendar. Once the reservation is confirmed, we will be committed to preparing for your adventure.
IF YOU CANCEL YOUR TRIP:
7 days prior: you'll get back your entire deposit, minus a $20 administration fee.
3-6 days prior: you will be refunded half the cost of your trip (or a $20 administration fee will be levied against the balance, whichever is greater).
Under 3 days, or fail to show up, you will forfeit the entire balance of the trip.
If in the case there is an unavoidable circumstance due to accident, illness or death in the family it will be at the sole discretion of Great River Outfitters to offer a credit toward a future trip (additional documentation may be required).
Refunds are processed as quickly as possible and typically only takes approximately three business days, though in some cases it can take up to 30 days with our third party reservation system.
If Great River Outfitters [GRO] cancels your trip or adventure due to hazards, unsafe weather or water conditions or any other reasons beyond our control, guests will receive full refund back.
If a request is approved to move your trip to another date requested by the reserving party despite GRO not deeming the conditions unsafe, then you are no longer eligible to receive full refund. If GRO cancels the rebooked trip date due to but not limited to weather or safety hazards, a full credit [not eligible for refund] will be applied toward a future trip for the reserving party.
LARGE GROUP / LARGE EVENT, NON-PROFIT & YOUTH GROUP CANCELLATION POLICY:
(The Cancellation Policy outlined above applies with the following stipulations included)
The entire balance of your trip will be charged 14 days prior to your trip/ event. (*Large events are charged 50% deposit at time of booking)
Large Groups of 20 people or more requires a cancellation 14 days prior to your scheduled trip for a full refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
If you cancel under 14 days prior to your trip, 50% of your trip cost will be refunded. Under 7 days no refund is given.
ADDITIONAL FEES/ TIME OVER DURATION:
If you make a reservation for our Float Trips, we offer different length trips based on distance and time for these specifically. Please adhere to the time and distance of the trip you signed up for. Should you go over the time allowance, it is at the discretion of G.R.O. to charge you/your group additional fees per 1/2-hour increment.
**Large Groups, Festivals & Extenuation circumstance - Additional transportation fees may apply.
RESCHEDULE/ REFUND REQUESTS DUE TO GRO CANCELLATION:
In the event that GRO cancels your trip due to inclement weather you will be notified via text message to contact us via email to submit a request to reschedule your trip, receive a full credit or a refund . All refund requests are to be made via email to info@greatriveroutfitters.com with in 48 hours of trip cancellation. If you do not request a refund with in that time you will automatically receive full credit toward your trip via a promocode that can be used at any time in the future or can be gifted to another person. If you don’t make your request in that time frame you are no longer eligible for a monetary refund.
REBOOKING POLICY:
Sometimes cancellation requests by the customer are approved when it is under 7 days or 3 days prior to the trip date. In that case a person may reschedule their current reservation or receive credit to rebook in the future. Some limitations and sometimes fees do apply to this situation, these are:
A $20 cancel/ rebook fee
If you are to reschedule your trip to a future date it must be made in the current season.
If you have credit to use in the future certain dates may be restricted and/or a time limit to use the credit as well as all the credit must be used or forfeiture of the remaining credit after the trip has been rebooked.
If you rebook you are not eligible for a future monetary refund or rebooking unless your trip is canceled by GRO and then you will receive a credit to schedule in the future.
**Consideration for rebooking your trip is made on a case-by-case basis. If you are considering requesting your trip to be rebooked, please send your request to Nicki at info@greatriveroutfitters.com or call 802-674-9933.
ALCOHOL & RECREATIONAL CANNABIS POLICY – RIVER TRIPS:
Bringing alcohol and/or cannabis with you on a river trip is permissible under these specific guidelines:
You must be 21 years of age or older to bring alcohol and/or cannabis on a river trip.
Upon check-in each person must sign a release of liability waiver and provide a valid photo ID such as a valid driver’s license or state ID.
Minor children (0 – 17 years) must be accompanied by an adult, parent, or legal guardian.
Adults under the legal age to consume alcohol and/or cannabis (18 – 20 years) may not consume alcohol and/or cannabis and must be accompanied by a parent if any alcohol and/or cannabis is in the possession of the group . If a parent is not present, then Great River Outfitters will confiscate alcohol and/or cannabis. Upon your return from your river trip, GRO will return the alcohol and/or cannabis to an adult of a legal age to be in possession of the alcoholic or cannabis derived substance. **Unless you are also camping in the POL Garden and then guidelines #3-#6 for camping in the POL Garden will take effect. **
Great River Outfitters will limit alcohol consumption to two 16oz beverage per person/ per 2-hour time frame during our river trips. Any alcohol that exceeds this restriction will be left behind and can be locked in your vehicle or left with GRO staff to hold for you until you return.
Great River Outfitters reserves the right to search through and seize all coolers if any of the employees suspect that the guidelines are not being adhered to.
Great River Outfitters reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated or impaired and may be a danger to themselves or others while participating in any GRO or POL activities.
ALCOHOL & RECREATIONAL CANNABIS POLICY – CAMPING IN THE PATH OF LIFE:
Bringing alcohol and/or cannabis into the Path of Life Garden is permissible under these specific guidelines:
You must be 21+ years of age to book a camping stay with us in the Path of Life Garden with us.
Upon check-in each person must sign a release of liability waiver and provide a valid photo ID such as a valid driver’s license or state ID. Minor children must be accompanied by an adult, parent, or legal guardian at all times.
Adults under the legal age to consume alcohol and/or cannabis (18-20) must be accompanied by a parent if any alcohol and/or cannabis is in the possession of the group. If a parent is not present, then Great River Outfitters will confiscate alcohol and/or cannabis. The alcohol and/or cannabis will be returned to you upon checkout of your campsite, to an adult of legal age to be in possession of an alcoholic or cannabis derived substance.
Great River Outfitters reserves the right to search for all coolers if it is suspected that any of these guidelines are being adhered to.
Great River Outfitters reserves the right to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated and may be a danger to themselves or others while participating in any GRO or POL activities.
DOG POLICY – RIVER TRIPS:
Dogs are allowed in a canoe with their pet. GRO does not allow dogs in rafts, kayaks, tandem kayaks, or on our Stand-Up Paddle Boards. GRO does not provide a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) for accompanying pets and is not responsible for any pet on a river trip - if you choose to engage in any river activity with your pet, GRO is not liable and you do so at your own risk.

DOG POLICY – THE PATH OF LIFE:
Dogs are allowed to accompany their owner on a garden tour through The Path of Life but MUST BE LEASHED at all times and the owner MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN PET WASTE DISPOSAL BAGS to pick up their pet’s excrement. There are trashes positioned all throughout the garden to throw away these waste bags.
Dogs are NOT ALLOWED for overnight camping in the garden using personal tents or in the Deluxe Tent Experience.
CAMPING RULES & REGULATIONS AT POL:
NO CLIMBING OR MOVING ANY OF THE SCULPTURES IN THE POL GARDEN
NO VEHICLES: Vehicles are not allowed in the POL Garden unless authorized by Great River Outfitters Staff. Campers will park in the designated parking area.
NO PETS: Though we love our furry friends we do not allow pets camping overnight in the POL garden.
NO FIREWORKS: or sparklers of any kind in the POL Garden as grasses are dry in the summer and can ignite easily.
CIGARRETTE SMOKING: is only permitted near fire rings or fire pits. No smoking in or near the Deluxe Tents [you will be responsible for any damage to the tent walls or other equipment which could include full replacement] and all cigarette butts are to be thrown in a fire pit.
FIREWOOD, FIRE RINGS, PICNIC TABLES: GRO provides these items for your personal campfire. Pallets are exclusively reserved to be burned at the bonfire. Please DO NOT burn firewood at the bonfire it is costly and will result in separate bundle fees for everyone that will raise your camping cost. Fire rings should not be moved from where they are placed.
BONFIRES: The bonfire is at the area of CREATIVITY in the garden and all campers are welcome to join the fun though quiet hours must be observed for 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Sunday-Thursday & 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Friday-Saturday as indicated per Windsor Town Ordinance. The bonfire area should be clear by midnight and all items returned to your personal campsites.
DO NOT MOVE THE LOGS AROUND THE BONFIRE THEY ARE PART OF THE AREA OF CREATIVITY AND PART OF THE SCULPTURE.
DAMAGE TO ANY SCULPTURES in the POL Garden or any structures in the Deluxe Tent Area to include tents, tables, fire-pits, benches, equipment or gear provided by Great River Outfitters will result in monetary compensation for repair or replacement of items.
QUIET TIME: is observed 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Sunday-Thursday & 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Friday-Saturday as indicated per Windsor Town Ordinance Please be respectful of others.
RUBBISH: Prior to check-out please be sure to place all rubbish in the trash cans provided, please respect the Vermont way of ‘leave no trace’ and ,maintain the cleanliness of our campsites by returning the conditions to the way you found it.
ALCOHOL & RECREATIONAL CANNABIS IS PERMITTED: Bringing alcohol or Cannabis is permitted under these guidelines [no other recreational drugs are allowed]:
You must be at least 21 years of age
A valid photo ID may be required
Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent, or legal guardian
Adults 18-20 may not consume alcohol or recreational drugs as outlined
Anyone not adhering to the policies will be asked to leave with no possibility of refund or credit
CHECK-OUT TIME BY 11:00 AM
